One of a number of unpublished typescripts found in a private collection, probably written while posted to Burma in 1945, (the others being B.29 in Distress on Fire; Burma Air, Dusty Answer; and It isn't in the Book)

In this essay, he writes of the remarkable success of a small airplane (the Stinson L-5 Sentinel) responsible for rescuing thousands of wounded Royal Air Force soldiers from the battleground of Meiktila.

Painted on some of these planes was the name 'Angel of Mercy' and the fact that they were sponsored by various schools in Detroit, Michigan. A typical example is shown below.
