In a newspaper column (attached), Bates is revealed as being the author of the introduction to a catalogue for a hair-style show with the historic speculation that "Eve's Hairdresser in the Garden of Eden could have been only one of two people: herself or Adam. My guess is that it was Adam"
The show arranged by Rene Moulard, hairdresser to Princess Margaret, took place on May 14, 1957 at the O'Hana Gallery, Mayfair and was hosted by Judy Montagu.
A film clip of the show can be seen at the British Pathe website.
The full introduction is yet to be located.
