A tale of a simpleminded fruitseller who develops an obsessive infatuation with a younger customer. His helplessness, and her willingness to take advantage of it, lead him to neglect his business and lose his shop, returning to selling with a horse and cart.
The story was dramatized for BBC Radio by Aileen Mills in 1956 in a production starring Basil Jones and June Barrie.
