A typescript of the screenplay revised by Bates, with a handwritten note "for Carol Reed" links Bates to this 1956 film directed by Carol Reed, and starring Burt Lancaster, Tony Curtis, and Gina Lollobrigida, although he is not listed officially in the film credits.
