A letter in which Bates criticizes H.J. Massingham for factual errors and incorrect quotes from Bates's own writing in a previous article for the Field (attached)
Although the letter makes no mention of England and the Farmer, a recent publication edited by Massingham, it appears in the same period of time as three reviews of that book by Bates as well as a contentious series of letters between the two writers as a result of those reviews.
